The international agency Elevate was looking for an event photographer in Cannes to do a photo report of the American Express Lounge specially installed during the ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
The particularity of this photo report was that the photos had to be taken from sunrise to sunset.
Indeed, the Lounge area was mainly located indoors but there was an outdoor part consisting of 3 networking sofa areas.
In addition, being situated high up and close to the sea, it was possible to get some interesting shots of the sunrise and sunset.
Photos of the outside of the lounge area
The lounge area was in two parts: outdoor and indoor.
I took photos of the exterior at different times of the day to highlight both the structure as a whole and specific parts.
Photos of the furniture installed
Several areas were set up to facilitate the discussion of small groups of people, to work or exchange, to have a snack, take a break or refresh.
So I took pictures of each area independently or side by side.
Photos of the guests
American Express had sent invitations to its customers who were present at the ILTM. So they had their own customers and other people there because it was open to everyone.
The instruction was to take photos not particularly aiming at one or more people, thus taking a wide framing.
Staff photos
The staff specifically assigned to the Lounge were hostesses and two bartenders.
They were instructed to be photographed from the front as they attended to the guests.
Photos of signs and logos
American Express wanted to have a gigantic sign on the pediment of the Palais des Festivals to indicate its presence and its message.
There was also a longer panel located near the staircase leading to the upper floor of the ILTM lounge.
I also took the opportunity to play with the viewpoints to highlight the AMEX logo both inside and outside the lounge area.
